Location: Salina Kansas
Website:

Born and Raised in Alaska, dad was in the oil exploration business as a geologist and surveyor.
I always loved woodworking, but we moved around, so i didn't really start getting a shop set-up until I was transferred to Salina Kansas. I got to work on projects in the evenings at the local tech school, which was slow going. My wife decided I really needed to be set up in our garage, so she got advice from her dad who was the high school shop teacher back in Alaska, and viola a truckload of tools arrived, along with marching orders on projects.
I also have been travelling each year to Marc Adams' school in Indiana to build on my skills, sort of my annual pilgrimmage to wood mecca.
So far I have taken Marc' joinery class, and marquetry followed by turning with embellishment, finishing, and design with Michael Fortune.

Right now woodworking is a hobby, I love to make furniture destined to be a cherished item and I've had several commisions but cannot afford to go pro, especially so far from a major metropolitan area.

Hey a fellow Kansan! Your projects are beautiful. I’m new to LJs and am looking forward to learning from the pros. It’s great that your wife takes such an interest in your work – What a joy to have all the new tools! I have several but need practice and instruction on some.
